FG Chassis Modifications

The Fuso FG chassis needs few things to make it a worthy platform for the AATREC(TM) cabin. By itself, FG is a uniquely capable 4x4 forward control chassis with great features. To complement Mitsubishi's design, RUF, Inc. has engineered and installed a number of available options which help protect the cab and occupants, increase range and utility, and allow the chassis to integrate into the complete AATREC Expedition Vehicle concept.

In the photo above, a 133.1" wheelbase 2004 FG649 as been prepared for the cabin. The roof gains storage space for a spare tire and extra equipment, while at the same time protecting the windshield and A-Pillars. Additional lighting at the base of the windshield provides superb visibility on back roads without causing any light to be reflected back onto the windshield.

A 15,000 lb. hydraulic winch is installed in the RUF FG Winch Bumper. This bumper also supports the grill guard, tow point, and quick connects for the auxiliary hydraulic circuit. Any of the following images may be clicked for enlargement...

Here is the Chelsea PTO, Florig hydraulic gear pump and return-line filter. This system can produce 17.5 GPM of flow at an engine speed of only 2000 RPM. There is ample power for the hydraulic winch, as well as almost anything connected to the auxiliary hydraulic circuit.

Standard seating from Mitsubishi is a split 40/60 bucket/bench arrangement. This blocks the opening RUF cuts into the back of the cab, thus preventing easy access to the camper. Standard AATREC-FG seating is the Corbeau Legacy, but RUF is happy to install seating from any other manufacturer such as Sparco or Recaro.
